First, let’s clarify what dental implants actually are.

A dental implant is a screw-shaped item made from titanium alloy, and is inserted into the jawbone during the intervention. After the intervention, the implant osseointegrates due to its special surface finish, meaning that it gets fixed into the bone tissue. After this, the implant functions as an artificial root. Therefore, crowns and bridges can be placed on the implants.

After tooth loss, the reduction of the jawbone begins, due to lack of loading. On the long run, this leads to the deformation of the face and hollow cheeks, which make the face look older and sicklier. This reduction process is inevitable with other replacement methods, bridges or removable dentures. On the surface of dental implants, pores are osseointegrated into the bone tissue, thus the implant is fixed and the process described above can be halted with the adequate loading of the jawbone.

Why is replacement with dental implants better than traditional replacement methods?

The biggest assets are sustainability and stability that the implant provides to the denture. If you have had a removable denture before, you will experience a huge improvement in your lifestyle. There are no more adhesives, shifting dentures, hurting gums or unpleasantness during eating. Having a fixed denture on a dental implant feels almost the same as having own teeth: it makes you self-confident, it can be cleaned easily, it is aesthetic and doesn’t shift in any circumstances, not even during speaking or eating. The intervention is fast and painless and with proper care and maintenance, dental implants are a lifelong solution to edentulousness.

To whom do we recommend replacement with dental implants?

Dental implant is a universal method – it can be perfect for everybody. During the preliminary consultation and the preparation of the treatment plan we assess the needs and possibilities and offer a customized solution for every patient. Whether it is one tooth to be replaced or a complete denture, dental implantation can be the perfect solution for you.

What is the dental implantation procedure?

Like every intervention at our clinic, dental implant treatments are preceded by a preliminary check-up and a consultation. In the course of these we get to know our patient’s needs – their requirements and wishes, and whether there are any medical conditions to be treated. After this, our specialist makes a health-check according to the X-ray and CT-scan and examines the state of the teeth and the bone, the position of the nerves and the mucous membrane. If our specialist has all the necessary information, the treatment plan is prepared according to preferences. The number and place(s) of the implant(s) and the replacements are determined. Every case is different; every treatment plan is preceded by a circumspect planning phase. After accepting the treatment plan, the intervention takes place.

Tooth replacement with dental implantation has either one or two steps. These are called one- or two-stage dental implants. The dentist decides which method to use depending on the state of the bone.

During one-stage dental implantation the implant is immediately loaded. This means that after the insertion of the implant the dental technician prepares the customized abutment and a fixed, temporary replacement. After the osseointegration, which takes about three months, the temporary replacement gives place to the permanent one.

In case of two-stage dental implantation, the dental implant is not loaded after the intervention. The mucous membrane grows over the implant in a few days, and the osseointegration takes place without loading. After the three-month-long waiting period the implants are freed, i.e. the mucous is removed, the customized abutments are prepared and the permanent replacement is fixed.

What are the expenses of dental implantation?

Dental implant prices differ around the globe and are dependent on the dental implants and other materials and equipment used. More and more patients are coming to Hungary from a foreign country, mainly from Germany, Switzerland, England, Scandinavia and Italy. The reason for this is that top quality dental treatments are significantly cheaper in Hungary than anywhere else. Low prices and world-class quality without compromise.
